Showing hidden files using command promt


  1. Plug the flash drive into a free USB port on your computer. Once the device is registered to Windows as a removable drive, open Windows File Explorer and note the drive letter for the USB drive.
  2. Open a command prompt window by typing “cmd” in the Charms bar’s Search field. Click the “Command Prompt” link when displayed on the screen, or
    Go to Start>>All Programs>>Accessories>>Click Command Prompt.Alternatively in recent version of windows you can click on Start and in the search box type “cmd” then press enter.
  3. Look for you disk for example you will show files on F disk you should type F: then enter. You will notice that the blinking line will go down and display F:\>.
  4. Now type in attrib -s -h -r /s /d then enter, the blinking line will go down again.
